I met these girls just a little over a year ago.
We all carried the same dream coming over to the States, but we all have our own stories and differences. Despite the fact that we are split between two majors, Strategic Public Relations and Communication Management, our Taiwanese roots and complementing personalities brought us together; closer than ever.
Sylvia is the first of the bunch that I have started chatting with through MSN. (On the side note, I have completely abandoned MSN since I came to LA and have totally forgotten my account & password. I'm so caught up with all these new social media tools that I don't even bother retrieving it.) She also had work experience before and was debating on whether to bring her pet over or not... haha and yes, she has after one year.
Nancy is the second person I got in touched with and I was totally stoked to meet her since she was my other half in the SPR program. It felt relieved to know another Taiwanese girl will be in the major since most people tend to apply to the other major. I knew we would hit it off since the beginning because we were both using BBM back in Taiwan!
Tiffany I actually heard about her through my co-worker back in L'Oreal. We didn't get to meet up for the "Nice to Meet You Dinner" that I held back in Taiwan, but we all started connecting through the Facebook Group I created. Tiffany is more like the reserved one in the group, but when you get to know her, she's quite a sweet girl and is just as outgoing as the rest of us.
It's amazing that we have all been here for a year now. I think as we have bonded in the last year, gotten to know and grow accustomed to our surroundings, we are off to create more adventures and memories together (with the help of this blog.)
These girls are family.

I almost forget I actually discussed the pet problem with you before. And now I really bring him over!! wow.
ReplyDeleteHaha, that was like the first thing we talked about because we were thinking of finding a place together in the beginning. It doesn't seem like time has gone by unless you really start recollecting all the past memories/conversations :')
